Lytestream Electrical recently completed works on St. Teresa’s Hospice, Darlington. St Teresa’s hospice is a registered charity which was founded in 1986 and provides a wealth of support and care to palliative and end of life patients. They pride themselves on their quality of care, professionalism and ability to meet the needs of all different patients and their families. They continue to provide this service through donations, endless fund-raising, partnerships and good management.
The works here comprised of construction of a new In-Patient Wing. The site of the new building is primarily landscaped gardens and adjoins the existing Day Centre from which covered access is obtained. The project has created new patient accommodation which includes 10 en-suite ground floor bedrooms for palliative and end of life care patients.
The new unit will enhance the level of care that St Teresa’s can provide and also increase the number of patients significantly.
Works carried out by Lytestream Electrical included; sub-distribution board and sub-main cabling. Cable containment systems, general/emergency/external lighting, small power including fixed power and socket outlets, fire alarm system, structured data cabling and audio visual. As well as secure door access, CCTV, nurse call system, TV system, wiring for mechanical services and earthing and bonding. Following the works full testing and commissioning of all the various electrical systems was carried out.
