Lytestream Electrical completed a refurbishment of three large picture galleries on the top floor of the museum including new distribution, general power, specialist track mounted LED spotlights and fire alarms. The new lighting is a suspended 3 circuit track system forming a rectangle within each of the 20metre x 15metre galleries. The track is suspended at 9 metres from the 14 metre atrium roof. Each track system has been fitted with 65no Philips 25w LED directional spotlights and 10no 2x1watt emergency lights. The lighting provides 75% energy saving and allows the museum to display the world’s greatest masterpieces. The existing Gents addressable fire alarm system has been modified to provide air sampling fire alarm detection around the perimeters. This new addition removes previous high level maintenance issues with conventional smoke detection.
